Thai-based aerospace manufacturer Weston SEA, a member of Weston EU Group, has been awarded the Rolls-Royce Chief Procurement Officer Award as a supplier who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to making a positive impact on performance to the customer.
On June 01, 2009, Dr Mike Orris, Chief Procurement Officer, Rolls-Royce plc, visited Weston SEA in Chonburi to personally present the Award to the whole team. Dr Orris enjoyed a tour of the facility and took the opportunity to talk to the workforce.
In presenting the award, Dr Orris said "The Rolls-Royce Supplier of the Year awards recognise the contribution and commitment of strategic partners and suppliers to supporting the Rolls-Royce Supply Chain Strategy and actively supporting the success and performance of our product range. We congratulate Weston SEA Ltd for winning the Chief Procurement Officer Award and look forward to continuing our successful relationship."
As the first Rolls-Royce supplier in Thailand, Weston SEA has signed a 10-year long term agreement (LTA) with Rolls-Royce, with the first delivery in March this year, for the production of compressor blades and vanes for the International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 engine. In doing so Weston SEA has taken on responsibility for a significant proportion of the V2500 total engine programme, with market values of approximately USD 15 million per year for phase one alone. The long-term partnership between Weston SEA and Rolls-Royce highlights the company’s commitment to Thailand.
