Continental Executives visit TAI Testing Center

Bangkok--28 Sep--PR & Associates Bangkok, Thailand, Recently, executives of Continental Automotive (Thailand) Co., Ltd. led by Mr. Thomas Chambers, Managing Director (second from right), and Mr. Rainer Doerrheide, General Manager (fourth from right) visited the Thailand Automotive Institute (TAI) Testing Center. The team was welcomed by Mr. Vallop Tiasiri, TAI President (Third from right) and provided with an overview of the operation and support services the Center offers to spare parts manufacturers in Thailand. The familiarization visit also included the inspection and testing units for automotive parts certification; and an informal discussion to exchange viewpoints on industry know-how and training resources as well as the development of new automotive technologies such as the piezo injector developed by Continental. German-based Continental AG, one of the world's top 5 automotive suppliers, has invested over EUR 100 million, or equivalent to THB 5 billion, in the automotive plant at the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong province, which officially opened on 16 June 2009. This plant, which occupies a floor space of approximately 25,300 square meters (30 rais) will produce commonrail diesel injectors, high pressure pumps. In the future, interior electronics will also be produced there. The production line will initially produce products for export to India and Europe.
