Symantec, the global leader in security software, today announced the appointment of SiS Distribution (Thailand) PCL, one of Thailand’s leading technology distributor, to distribute Norton products across the country. The partnership underscores Symantec’s aggressive growth strategy of expanding its footprint across the region and commitment to protecting consumers from the ever-increasing malicious code activity.
Today, cyber criminals are furiously writing and then rewriting new and unique pieces of malware, hoping to stay under the radar of threat signatures for as long as possible. According to Symantec’s Internet Security Threat Report Volume XIV, Symantec created more than 1.6 million new malicious code signatures in 2008. This equates to more than 60 percent of the total malicious code signatures ever created by Symantec. Given this, consumer’s worldwide need to be empowered to deny digital dangers and Thai consumers are no exception.
