The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection hotel, is proud to be the venue of an exclusive and inspirational exhibition showcasing the work of two outstanding artists, Marie Schem and Alan Berg.
The Library at our distinguished hotel will display the extraordinary works of the French painter Marie Schem and New Yorker, Alan Berg from now until Mid of January.
Marie Schem describes herself as a dreamer, a happy-go-lucky spirit who came upon the Beaux-Arts, and lived and blossomed there for four years. Her captivating portraits using acrylic on canvas are influenced by her experience of living in France and Algeria. She uses colour to express emotions, along with faces that switch from one state of mind to another, their emotions showing on the surface in wide flat strokes of violet, green, pink and yellow.
Alan Berg composes and paints serigraphy on canvas. His striking paintings contrast violent flashes with the instantly recognizable and timeless icons of American and European pop culture including sex-symbols or international celebrities. Sharing his time between the USA and France, Berg has enjoyed enormous success and many consider him to be the leader of Pop Art. He recently completed a project for the Fiat 500 and is currently working for the Benetton Group.
