Whilst many Nargis-affected communities have embarked on a road to recovery, others have critical humanitarian needs that must be met now or their already high vulnerability will increase further. The Association of Southeast Asia Nations is organising a Post-Nargis and Regional Partnerships Conference to review the progress of the recovery process and to mobilise resources to address the outstanding critical needs in Nargis-affected areas. It also serves as a forum for regional lessons sharing in disaster management in the wake of the multiple-disasters that struck Southeast Asia in September 2009.
