The Japanese watch manufacture, Seiko, is stunning the world’s watch enthusiasts once again with one of the year’s most innovative collection of timepieces —Arctura. Designed with aerodynamics in mind, the Arctura watches are a pleasant figure of smoothly flowing curvature. The heart of these watches is Seiko’s proprietary Kinetic Direct Drive movement which operates on the energy harnessed from the wearer’s wrist movements. The battery-less operation is complemented by the Auto Relay System which puts the watch into hibernation when it is not in use to preserve energy and automatically springs it back to life and accurate time when worn again. The Perpetual Calendar function featured on the Arctura is capable of displaying the correct date until February 28th, 2100 without the wearer’s intervention at the end of months with fewer than thirty-one days, including leap years. This immortalized design for the wrist is retailed at 31,990 baht.
