Bangkok--22 Jan--Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit
Join us for a memorable evening of fine wines paired with exquisite wapas at BarSu. On Thursday, January 28, BarSu and ItalAsia will present outstanding wines from Yering Station, one of the most highly regarded wineries in Australia’s Yarra Valley with an introduction from FRieNZ, an exciting new wine concept that brings together Old and New World expertise between the two greatest Sauvignon Blanc regions: the Loire Valley in France and Marlborough in New Zealand’s South Island.
Yering Station was the Australian state of Victoria's first vineyard, originally planted in 1838. This historic wine estate was purchased by the Rathbone family in 1996, marking the beginning of a new era with the construction of a state-of-the-art winery and award-winning wine tourism destination. Today, Yering Station is renowned for producing award-winning wines of world-class quality and distinction including exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
FRieNZ was created by friends Jean-Luc Blanchard and Belinda Jackson and brought to life by winemakers Alain Guichet of Loire Proprieties and John Forrest of Forrest Wines. Producing a Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc harvested in October, and a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc harvested in April, FRieNZ wines are created to reflect both regions’ and both winemakers experience and knowledge.
BarSu’s chic and relaxed surroundings make it the perfect venue to explore a selection of bold and intriguing wines. The tasting will include Sauvignon Blanc, 2008 FrieNZ produced in Marlborough, New Zealand. The engaging Yering Station wines include a Little Yering Chardonnay, 2008, a Little Yering Pinot Noir, 2008, and a Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 from the Yarra Edge Vineyard.
Six distinctive wines served will be paired with BarSu’s enticing wapas dishes for only THB 990++
