Bangkok--22 Jan--The Royal Cliff Beach Resort
On the 29th December 2009, the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH (Pattaya Exhibition and Conference Hall) presented a certificate to Mr. Kovit Tianthongnukul, Secretary General of 48th LIONS OSEAL Forum, representing the organizing committee of LIONS for having taking great steps in helping to safeguard the environment and help reduce global warming by opting to have the 48th LIONS OSEAL Forum at PEACH during November.
Using specific calculations based on formulae from the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change, the leading body for the assessment of climate change, established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), it was possible to accurately measure the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions whilst the resorts’ expert engineers charted the overall effect to the environment.
The event resulted in the reduction of many emissions, pollution and use of natural resources following the ‘Initiative on Green meeting’, due to the extensive and heavily implemented environmentally friendly initiatives and policies in place at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH which have already served to improve the local environment and community.
The Royal Cliff Beach Resort has already been honoured with several awards for its noted accomplishments in its efforts to help improve the environment. Awards include the EIA Monitoring Award (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008), Kuoni Green Planet Award (2005-06 and 2007-08) and the Best Green Hotel recognition (2008).
