Fashion Island Shopping Center greets coming of the Chinese New Year by hosting “Chinese Fest 2010” on February 5-14, 2010. The festival highlights marvelous shows from five provinces of the People’s Republic of China, including Hainanese puppet show from Hainan province, Shaolin Kung Fu show from Shaolin Temple Kung Fu School in Shanghai, Sichuan mask dance from Sichuan province, acrobatics of Puyang Acrobatic Troupe from Henan province, and lion dance and other traditional dances from Beijing. This is also a good opportunity to pray to holy gods in Chinese belief, learn the right “feng shui” for propitious home in the Year of Tiger, and attend workshops in Chinese brush calligraphy, Chinese paper cutting, and Chinese knotting organized by Nampaya Chinese Language School.
