The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) joins hands with 11 leading securities firms to hold “SET-TFEX Click2WIN 2010,” an equities-derivatives online trading simulation. This game gives prospective investors an opportunity to know-play-try before actually trading. This year will be the first time that the game combines both stock and derivatives trading into one.
“This is according to our strategy in 2010 to increase liquidity, as players will build their knowledge and understanding about investment. We emphasize using real information from SET and Thailand Futures Exchanges PCL (TFEX) on a simulated trading screen, using settrade.com’s Streaming Plus system. The system is convenient to use and easy to search information for investment decision-making, like real investors do in SET and TFEX,” revealed SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai.
“Currently, retail investors trading securities through the Internet account for 1/3 of total investors. As of end-2009, Internet trading value accounted for 19.8% of total trading value on SET, while TFEX’s Internet trading value accounted for 21.2% and has tended to increase continually. This growth shows that today, investors have confidence in making their own decisions and trading online, as a result of SET activities promoting online knowledge for investors. The competition enables investors to trade more easily, conveniently and faster,” said Ms. Patareeya.
SET-TFEX Click2Win will allow applicants to choose prizes from securities firms, or the Broker League, which will hold competitions in March, June and September 2010. Moreover, applicants may participate in the Champ of the Champ in November 2010 and join activities/seminars about online securities trading throughout the year.
