PHUKET: 20 February 2010 — Phuket turned on the style with a fashion spectacular at Royal Phuket Marina. Over 200 guests were treated to a catwalk show of international and Thai clothing and accessories brands on the boardwalk in front of Skippers Bar & Restaurant.
The concept for the 'RPM Fashion Session' was Phuket professionals modelling International and Thai fashion brands.
“We decided to use working Phuket professionals, as opposed to professional models. The idea was to showcase the great fashion available on the island, by people living and working on the island,” said Chanut Nawnarong, Managing Director of organisers Infinity Communications & Consultant.
Four fashion sets were presented: Rip Curl, Calvin Klein Jeans, Island Shop and StarBlu. Accessories and jewellery were by Sandy. Over million baht of fashion was modelled to a multinational audience who enjoyed the fashion feast.
This was the first event of it's kind on Phuket — a marina-side fashion show, showcasing fashion brands available on Phuket, by Phuket professionals.
Royal Phuket Marina's boardwalk was turned into a red-carpeted catwalk in front of Skippers Bar & Restaurant for the evening. The setting could have challenged any show in Milan, Paris, London or New York, with the clear sky, catwalk lighting and marina backdrop filled with multi-million dollar boats. Phuket's paparazzi and TV crews were on hand to record the event.
Guests didn't disappoint with many making their own fashion statements in glamorous and glitzy stunning evening dresses, mixed with some tropical chic numbers. No hats were seen, except those on the models.
“The models were great and they were all stars on the night. It was a pleasure working with them and also the fashion brands — each of the brands was very co-operative and keen to promote to the Phuket market,” commented Khun Chanut. “A number of brands have already shown interest in doing more events on the Island as they see Phuket as a key market for them.”

RPM Fashion Session was held at Royal Phuket Marina and was sponsored by Global i-care, RevolutionZ and Royal Eastern Beverage. Fashion brands were presented from Rip Curl, Calvin Klein Jeans, Island Shop, StarBlu and Sandy. The event was organised by Infinity Communications & Consultant.
