Bangkok--11 Mar--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has prepared measures to ensure that securities trading will not be interrupted even if the demonstrations affect SET operations during March 12-15. The SET recommends that investors carefully consider a stock’s fundamentals and closely keep up with the news in making investment decisions, said SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai. “SET has set up a special team to constantly monitor the situation as well as set up security measures for SET building, its employees and the necessary infrastructure to ensure that trading and other significant systems will not be affected if the situation deteriorates. Moreover, SET has its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) working group, which has rehearsed its plans every year and has a contingency plan for if its employees cannot enter the building. “Meanwhile, SET has coordinated with brokerages to prepare the readiness of their system to ensure that trading orders of both foreign and domestic investors can be executed normally,” said Ms. Patareeya. “The SET would like to assure investors that its trading systems will continue functioning. Investors should carefully keep up with news and check on the reliability of news sources, since that will directly affect their decision-making,” concluded Ms. Patareeya.
