Garmin and ASUS Join Hand Together to Launch M10 An Innovative Navigator Phone That Combines Communication, Navigation, and Modern Lifestyle
After ASUS and Garmin has announced their official alliance at the end of last year and has launched garmin-asus M20 as their first mobile phone in Thai market, the brand has been warmly received by experts and users, proven by critical and acknowledge articles in I.T., automobile and travel categories. The return on sales of the phone went beyond expectation within a short period.
This time, garmin-asus takes a step further with the latest touch-screen smartphone, garmin-asus M10, which holds unique concept, Smart3 (Smart Phone — Smart Navigation — Smart Lifestyle), by combining all requirements within a single phone, including communication, navigation, and real-time data management for convenient lifestyle.
Mr.Edison Wang, Product Manager of garmin-asus Thailand, stated that “garmin-asus M10 is a smartphone for the new generation who prefers an all-in-one device that combines functions of phone, notebook, satellite navigator, digital camera, and social networking. It is fashionably designed and user-friendly with the latest operation system, Windows Mobile 6.5.3, the version that only available in garmin-asus M10.”
Garmin-asus M10 contains 3.5-inch WVGA display with intuitive touch interface. It is equipped with 512 MB / 512 MB RAM / ROM and 4GB storage (Micro SD card expansion support). The phone has new features such as 3D Task Manager for easier application switch. It supports 3G and HSDPA / Wi-Fi wireless connectivity for faster message sending and receiving. Moreover, it can be operated for longer period by using 1500 mAh battery.
Garmin-asus M10 also contains Click & Search function to directly search for target location from often-used application such as calendar, contact list, e-mail list, or internet browser. User can only make highlight on the location and click on search button to start navigation immediately. It supports online social networking such as Facebook or Picasa Web Albums. User can get into online connection to receive real-time information such as weather, flight status, and movie showtime. Moreover, the phone is equipped with 5-million pixel digital camera.
Mr.Edison Wang also spoke that “garmin-asus M10 contains the same premium navigation software as 1460 model, which is a high-end Garmin navigator. It has distinctive features such as Junction View that displays virtual lane and junction in 3D.”
Mr.Pornthep Watchara-Amnouy, Managing Director of ASUSTek Computer (Thailand Co., Ltd., stated that “This year, the overall market trend and mainstream for PDA phone in Thailand will require user-friendly device with various attributes. Users are more interested in fashionable design and portability. I believe that garmin-asus M10 can fulfill all the mentioned demands.”

Therefore, we are confident that the launch of M10 will meet success as it is not only contains outstanding navigation system, but also has additional features that make M10 becomes different from other communication device. We believe that the market will be more expanded to upcountry channels, feature phone market and GPS shops.
Garmin-asus M10 will be available in the middle of March in black and white colors. It will be sold at 2 prices, which are 14,900 Baht (excludes car installation devices) and 16,900 Baht (includes car installation devices). Both prices include VAT.
