Bangkok--29 Mar--Courtyard By Marriott Cha Am
The Courtyard by Marriott Hua Hin at Cha am Beach and the Sirindhorn International Environment Park have launched a local community project to regenerate a mangrove plantation adjacent to the hotel to improve the environment for villagers and hotel guests.
Deputy Director of the Sirindhorn International Environment Park, Dr Sonjai Havanon was joined by Cha am Mayor Nukul Pornsomboonsiri, the resort's General Manager, Sigrid Stelling and village heads from the surrounding areas to plant new mangroves in a canal next to the hotel to assist in the area's sustainable ecological development.
"All of us at the resort are members of our 'Spirit To Serve The Community' programme in which we are always looking for ways to assist the communities around us through environmental projects or educational initiatives," Ms Stelling said.
"This event will help improve the habitat for local villagers and improve the image of the area generally while assisting the local ecology to regenerate."
Ms Selling said the resort had more corporate social responsibility projects to implement later in the year.
