The service revenue (excluding IC) increased 3.4% to Baht 23.6 billion, EBITDA rose 27% to 7.2 billion baht, with postpaid and non voice revenue had strong growth with a 15.8 million subscribers, dominating one third of the market’s net adds for six consecutive years. TrueMove revealed its business direction for 2010, which will be “The Year of Quality”, focusing on service development while expanding and increasing efficiency of the 2G network and continuing its trial 3G service and extending strategic convergence with campaigns for customer retention offering them the best value. Mr. Suphakit Vuntanadit, Chief Commercial Officer, True Move Co. Ltd., said “TrueMove’s 2009 operating results grew against the overall market tide, starting with service revenue (excluding IC) increasing 3.4%, to 23.6 billion baht, a growth of the postpaid and non-voice service that increased by 17.8% and 17% respectively, based on the strategic convergence and the launch of the iPhone, a factor, which caused very strong growth. EBITDA rose 27% to 7.2 billion baht due to the success in managing IC fees in the campaign “Free calls within a group” that has boosted calls within TrueMove’s network, resulting in net IC value dropping 813 million baht. Moreover, the international call service which started to recover in the middle of 2009, helped increase revenue. TrueMove has launched new packages such as SIM Inter to penetrate the overseas call market that has had a tremendous response from customers. At the end of 2009, TrueMove had 15.8 million subscribers with postpaid customers increasing by 26.3% and new customers increasing by about one million. TrueMove has maintained a market share of one third of market net adds for the 6th consecutive year. Suphakit added that “in 2010, non-voice services would play an important role in the growth of the telecommunications market and the 3G network, with its high speed data transmission, would generate the growth of non-voice while the international call service would recover and grow continuously”. “For 2010 TrueMove’s marketing strategy, the company will focus on “The Year of Quality” in which TrueMove will develop its network and services. The company has prepared to invest 3,000 - 4,000 million baht to develop service quality increasing its 2G potential and expanding the 3G network.
