The Thai Association of Landscape Architects (TALA) is taking over “Crystal Design Center”, the Ultimate Lifestyle Design District, to stage its “International Landscape Expo 2010” during this coming April 1-4, 2010. The event, which features “Green Creative: Society in the making” concept, will highlight 4 landscaping approaches for today and tomorrow as well as ideas to make Bangkok green through the display of BKK 2020.
Mr. Chaiyut Thienvutichai, President of Thai Association of Landscape Architects (TALA), discloses today that the Association in conjunction with K.E. Land, the management of Crystal Design Center, the Ultimate Lifestyle Design District in Asia, is staging the International Landscape Expo 2010 during this coming April 1-4 on the 15,000 SQM of Crystal Design Center, Praditmanutham (Ekamai-Ramindra) Road. The event, which features “Green Creative: Society in the making” concept, will serve the Association’s two main objectives. First is to demonstrate its commitment as creative designer bound to creating balance and harmony among men, their environment and the nature, since landscape architect is a profession dealing directly with the creation of a green environment, as well as its awareness and capability as an organization, whose play role to ease the global warming problem.
This event also show the faculty of local landscaping industry as well as opportunities, which come with new challenges where landscaping could be used to develop sustainable society, and environment, which does not only affect the society physically but also stimulate and upgrade it economically, culturally and socially. Though landscape architect is among the key designers which helps contribute to the creation of a lively and sustainable society, it is, however, the dynamics of the people living in it that drive the change and, therefore, all Bangkokian are urged to take parts and participate in this vivid and causeful gathering to transform and create Bangkok into the City of the Future.
There will be 4 highlights at International Landscape 2010 including 1. Exposition: a complete showcase of landscaping products and technologies, whether it is construction materials or greenery, green creative themed real estate projects as well as sustainable environment for communities; 2. Exhibition: a fascinating display of ideas and concepts to create a city of the Future through BKK 2020, which is a mapping of development plans from 3 selected universities for 20 public areas in Bangkok and a display of over 30 landscape architecting companies; 3. Tomorrows Forum: a seminar on “Making Green Creative Society” through the eyes of 2 national artists and a landscape architect. 4. Design Competition: a display of exhibits by the 6 final teams to create 3 dimensional perspectives, under the topic of “Below 2 Degrees”, which would help reduce 2?c off the earth in the next 10 years.
This gathering of the landscape architect industry is meant to serve related stakeholders, customers, state and private agencies, e.g. those related to town and country planning, large organizations in needs of landscaping, leading real estate companies with focuses on environmental and community living, as well as the general public. In addition, the event will offer complete zoning, whether it is design, management, or deployment, for both small scaled and large scaled projects.
To make the event even more vivid, there will be visual and vocal activities running throughout the period. This includes TALA Showcase, Creative Wisdom, Creative Project, Creative Cities, BKK 2020, LA School, Friends of TALA, City of Voice, and presentations of dimensional simulation of landscape architects and community living. And as a result, it is expected that the event will draw a handsome number of 10,000 visitors or more during the 4 day period.
