Bangkok--27 May--Total Quality PR Asia’s biggest action sports competition kicks off in Shanghai and fans can look forward to catching a stellar line up of the sport’s best athletes competing in the KIA X Games Asia 2010, LIVE and exclusive on ESPN from 1.00 to 3.00pm on 28-30 May. This year’s event is the 12th edition of Asia’s biggest action sports competition - the fourth to be held in Shanghai - and will feature the new mini-MegaRamp? structure that will be showcased for the first time in Asia. Towering more than three stories high, and longer than two basketball courts, the mini MegaRamp? contests will feature Skateboard and BMX athletes dropping into a structure with a 9.2m high roll-in, launching over a gap 7.6m long and continuing into a 5.5m quarter-pipe. More than 30 countries from five continents will compete at Yangpu District’s KIC Jiangwan Sports Centre, and over the next few days viewers from across Asia can catch five-time gold medallist Pierre-Luc Gagnon in the skateboard disciplines, as well as four-time gold medallist Kevin Robinson and eight-time medallist Simon Tabron for the BMX Freestyle events. The Yasutoko brothers Eito and Takeshi, a popular draw amongst Asian fans, return to extend their dominance in the aggressive in-line vert. One of the sport’s most decorated athletes who practiced on the mini-MegaRamp? structure was eight-time X Games gold medallist Andy Macdonald, who gave his stamp of approval after his practice run today. Said MacDonald: “I did the first big jump in 1999 and it’s always awesome to see this new discipline in our sport keep expanding.
