Over the years, Siemens Ltd. Thailand has been actively contributing to help construct a harmonious community and society in the country by engaging in a variety of corporate citizenship activities mainly focused on education, environmental protection, public welfare, disaster relief as well as employee volunteering.
This year in order to support company’s corporate citizenship program calling upon staff on the World Environmental Day, June 5th, 2010, Communications Department of Siemens Ltd. Thailand organized a ‘mangrove re-planting activity’ in Chonburi on Friday 4th June, 2010, a day before the WED, for the staff’s actions towards environmental protection.
A group of about 75 management members and staff, led by Mr. Anthony Chay, President and CEO of Siemens Ltd. Thailand, participated in this green activity to help safeguard the variety of lives in mangrove areas in Centre of Expertise on Eco-tourism for Mangrove Conservation which is a vital part of our environment.
“I am very happy to be a part of this green activity, dedicated to improving the environment against global warming as well as conserving the habitat for many species in mangrove areas. For Siemens, we wish to contribute to our society and environment in positive ways. In addition to the contribution we make through our innovative technology, we encourage our staff to be aware of the environmental impacts from their actions and to be involved in the communities as well as to be responsible to the environment and society”, said Mr. Anthony Chay.
“We hold an internal green campaign every year around the World Environment Day to raise the awareness and engage our staff for positive actions we do on a daily basis. I believe we together can make a difference and make the world a better place to live for our children’s generations”, added the CEO of Siemens Ltd. Thailand.
