The Corporate Communications Office of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited clarifies regarding the Clear Air Turbulence occurring on flight TG622 routing Bangkok-Osaka on Sunday, 20 June, 2010.
TG622 routing Bangkok-Osaka departed from Bangkok on 19 June at 23.30 hrs. and was due to arrive in Osaka on Sunday, 20 June, 2010 at 07.00 hrs. local time. Within the 1 hour 30 minutes prior to landing and while the aircraft was prepared to descend, it encountered clear air turbulence, causing some minor injuries to some of its crews and passengers.
The cabin crew has followed the safety measures on weather condition, giving caution to passengers and light signals to remain seated with the seat belt fastened. Four people were found to have received injuries caused by the clear air turbulence on this flight. The cockpit has advised the Air Control Tower to prepare for ambulance for the injured passengers upon landing. The flight landed safely at Kansai International airport at 5 minutes before the schedule landing time. As the injury was minor, the affected Japanese passenger opted to go straight home instead of visiting the hospital.
