USCRI Thailand appoints Ajarn Ann-Mrs.Chatchanit Musigchai Mahaguna the second Refugee Ambassador of Thailand

Bangkok--23 Jun--USCRI Thailand Mr.Veerawit Tianchainan, Country Director of the US Committee for Refugee and Immigrants (USCRI) recently appointed Ann Mahaguna, a lecturer writer, entrepreneur and radio personality, as the second Thai Refugee Ambassador and marked the World Refugee Day on June 20th designated by the United Nations. Each year, The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants - Thailand (USCRI - Thailand) organizes the World Refugees Day event to send message from USCRI President Ms. Lavinia Lim๓n and appoints the second Refugee Ambassador of Thailand, Ajarn Ann-Mrs.Chatchanit Musigchai Mahaguna. USCRI head quarter is in Washington D.C. and has it’s first overseas branch in Bangkok . Thailand hosts approximately 130,000 refugees along the Thai-Myanmar border. The total displaced people around the world according to the 2009 Global Trends report produced by UNHCR is accounted for up to 43.3 people. USCRI Thailand already appointed the first Refugee Ambassador, Diana Jongjintanakarn, the famous actress among the young Thais. Now the two ambassadors will go one their missions to serve the USCRI humanitarian purposes and continue to help raise human quality along Thai borders.
