AirAsia Improves Guests’ Web Experience with System Upgrade

Bangkok--6 Jul--AirAsia AirAsia, the world’s best low cost airline will be upgrading to a new and improved system from 1300hrs (GMT +8) on 9 July 2010 to 1800hrs (GMT +8) on 11 July, 2010 to provide their guests with a better web and online experience. AirAsia will be using Navitaire’s New Skies? distribution, reservation, and departure control solutions to support its high-growth business plans. Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia said: “The new and improved system will help AirAsia to minimize cost, and this translates into more savings for our guests! This is part of our commitment to serve our guests better and ensuring that we keep our word of ‘Now Everyone Can Fly’.” While making way for the new and improved system, all reservations and booking services on www.airasia.com, AirAsia sales counters and call center will not be accessible throughout the duration of the system upgrade. AirAsia’s web and mobile Self Check-In facilities will be unavailable from 0001hrs on 7-11 July 2010 to accommodate the system upgrade. As AirAsia’s web and mobile Check-In options are available up to seven days prior to their scheduled flights, guests traveling from 7 july 2010 can conduct Self Check-In before 7 july 2010 for a seamless travel experience and to avoid any delays. Guests who still plan to check-in manually are advised to arrive at the check-in counters at least three hours before their flight from 9-11 July 2010. AirAsia will only be accepting cash terms for purchase of any ancillary products at the check-in counters, including excess baggage fees during the system upgrade. Kathleen Tan added, “We hope that by carrying out this upgrade over the weekend, we are able to minimize any inconvenience to our guests. We encourage all affected guests to make any changes, add Supersized Baggage weight, make seat selection or any other travel transactions online before 1300hrs (GMT +8) on 9 july 2010 to avoid any inconvenience during our system upgrade.” Hotel bookings and reservations for tours and activities on AirAsiaGo.com will still be available throughout the AirAsia system upgrade.
