The green initiatives ... at Indigo Pearl Resort are building. Indigo Pearl Resort has established a "Green Pearl" environmentally - friendly committee to execute their green mission to improve the environmental measures at their resort and help protect the environment at Nai Yang Beach and surrounding community. Future plans for a healthy and clean community are being pushed seriously by the “Green Pearl Team”.
Their plans for a green community and resort are underway as they have teamed with CEO and President of Sustainable Smiles, Inc., Kelly Franklin.
Sustainable Smiles has joined Indigo Pearl to assist them with promoting both local and global environmental awareness and environmental sustainability. Kelly founded Sustainable Smiles, a nonprofit organization based out of the United States, in 2009, to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability and appreciation for nature in communities around the world. Sustainable Smiles first projects have been providing environmental education at 4 different schools to students age 6-12 while involving them in their Thai Muang Beach Cleanup Project in Phang-Nga Province.
Why Indigo Pearl?
Partnerships are important. Kelly feels that Indigo Pearl has a strong team of passionate and dedicated employees who really care about the environment and want to make a difference in their local community and environment. We share many of the same goals and right now we are already working together to provide environmental education to over 150 students at two schools in the local community, Wat Mongkol and Technical Thalang College. Right now our focus is providing quality environmental awareness to students and staff members at Indigo Pearl. Our next step will be working with the students and staff members, as well as local community members, and stakeholders, in designing programs to help improve the environment here at Nai Yang Beach. Creating good environmental awareness for children at a young age is important as they are the future generation. If we can teach them to pay attention to how their actions impact the environment and provide them with the tools and kno wledge they need to solve environmental problems then they can lead the way to a greener more sustainable future.
The Green Pearl team took action earlier this month on 11 June, as they started to maintain good environment on Nai Yang Beach. Nai Yang is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket, were tourists and locals can enjoy the quietness of the surrounding Sirinat National Park. Nai Yang beach also brings in a lot of revenues to local business and it is an important part of Phuket Island so it is important to protect the environment and life here at Nai Yang Beach.
