The Bangkok Opera, Siam Commercial Bank PCL and the Embassy of Austria will present the Thai premiere of Mahler Symphony No. 3 by the Siam Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul on July 21, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at Mahisorn Hall, SCB Park Plaza.
Mahler Symphony No. 3, recorded as the “longest symphony in the mainstream repertoire” in the Guinness Book of Records, is part of Siam Philharmonic Orchestra’s Mahler Cycle, which will reach completion in 2013. Also performing in this massive work will be musicians from the Siam Sinfonietta along with the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus, the Czech Republic’s Hanaciboys Choir and our home-grown Orpheus Choir of Bangkok.
