Thailand Equestrian Federation (TEF) will organize ‘Thailand Championships 2010’, the final qualifying competition to select Thai riders for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and to win the King’s Cup. The exciting schedule for Thailand Championships 2010 will be held at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya, Chonburi during July 23-26, 2010.
Mr.Harald Link, President of Thailand Equestrian Federation said ‘TEF aims for our Thai riders to bring home the gold medal on eventing, therefore, we carefully on the selection our riders to represent the nation. Thailand Championships 2010 is the competition to search for Thai riders in Eventing category for the up-coming 2010 Asian Game in November. The first part will be the Dressage, the first of Eventing’s three disciplines. The Dressage phase is a test of elegance in motion, challenging horse and rider to complete a series of choreographed movement with precision and flair. The following day will be Cross Country competition to run over the picturesque course at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club. The next day will be Show Jumping competition. The winner is the rider and horse with the lowest penalty scores. However, to fit the qualification for 2010 Asian Games, Thai rider cannot exceed maximum of a penalty score of 75 on Dressage, not any penalty score on Cross Country and penalty score below 16 points on Show Jumping.’
Our vision for Thailand Equestrian Federation (TEF) is to strive to expand the affordability and attractiveness of the Thai equestrian environment in Thailand. We aim to increase the number of enthusiastic riders to 100,000 by 2020 and have become the strongest riding nation in Asia as evidenced by medals and international competitions.
Thailand Equestrian Federation recently reformed new committee members which including academics from several social sectors such as Mr.Phongthep Chiaravanont, Lt.Gen.M.R.Krit Kridakon and etc. Each committee was laid out the framework of their responsibility and will work together to drive the federation’s goal effectively.
In the meantime, to achieve our purpose and mission, Thailand Equestrian Federation deeply committed to create a sense of belongings and equitable participation by all constituents of Thailand Equestrian Federation such as questionnaire through workshop or seminar. We plan an active role to increase public awareness on the riding sport via regular press release, semi-annual press conference and others media exposure. In the meantime, the federation will increase the number of attractive annual calendar and annual competition. In order to expand the larger Thai Riders community, we will create a viable youth program involving the parents and schools in the establishment plan.
