H.E. Dr. Wannarat Channukul, the Thai Minister of Energy, and H.E. U Than Htay, the Myanmar Deputy Minister for Energy, jointly presided over a gas sales agreement signing ceremony for supplying 240 million cubic feet a day from Zawtika Field in the M9 block of Myanmar. Representing the buyer was Mr. Prasert Bunsumpun (2nd from left), PTT Plc’s CEO and President, and representing the sellers were Mr. Anon Sirisaengtaksin (1st from left), PTT Exploration and Production Plc’s CEO and President, and Mr. U Myint Htay, Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise Managing Director. The gas to be taken by PTT will replace 2,400 million liters of fuel oil import a year and save Thailand about 400 billion baht in foreign-currency payment through the 30-year agreement.
