Ratchaburi Holding in collaboration with Ministry of Energy and RFD To Promote Stop Global Warming for Our Beloved King By Teak Cultivation To Reduce CO2
Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop (middle), former Deputy Prime Minister and Advisor to the Chairman of the Organizing Board for the Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of HM’s Coronation and His Birthday Anniversary; Dr. Wannarat Channukul (right), Minister of Energy; (6th from left), and Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon (left), President, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PLC attended the “9,784 Teak Cultivation” ceremony under the “99,784 Teak Cultivation In Honor of HM the King” campaign run jointly by Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PLC, the Ministry of Energy and Royal Forest Department. The initiative involves growing teak trees in order to reduce CO2, as teak can capture more CO2 from the atmosphere (creating a carbon sink) than other plants in order to alleviate the global warming. The campaign was initiated to reinforce the Company’s CSR commitment to be the leading independent power company with an environmental focus. The event took place at Bann Nong Plong community forest, Tambon Kham Tao, Amphur Nonn Soong, Nakhon Ratchasima province.
