Organised by TRIA Integrative Wellness and Medical Institute in cooperation with Piyavate Hospital Foundation, FIM Faculty of Integrated Medicine UK, Department for Thai development of Thai traditional and alternative medicine Ministry of Public Health, Foundation for Development of Complementary-Alternative Medicine (Thailand) and NIA National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), the three-day Asian Integrative Medical(AIM) Conference 2010 takes place from 09 to 11 August 2010 at TRIA Integrative Medical Institute is the first event of its kind in Asia.
The Conference welcome reception was graced by Dr. Punsiri Kulnartsiri, Deputy to Minister of Public Health and Khun Sansern Ngaorungsi, Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific) Tourism Authority of Thailand.
With the aim to strengthen and support Integrative Medicine in Asia by understanding ways in which the current health system can be developed to provide more effective means of diagnosis and treatment, this included exhibition booths, product displays and seminar sessions. Delegates and participants have benefitted immensely from the exchanges with the different integrative medicine experts during the inaugural 3-day Integrative Medical Conference.
Key conference topics included An Overview of Integrative Medicine, All About Food, Pioneering Therapies, Integrative Cardiology, Integrative Cancer Treatment, Mind and Body Connection. The conference also provided experiential recess sessions which included Interactive Recess included Integrative Eating- 5W's and Pranayama (The Art of Breathing).
Professor Nithi Mahanonda, M.D., FRACP, FACC, FSCAI, FCSANZ, CEO of Piyavate Hospital and chairman of the conference organising committee said, “We believe we have achieved 2 main goals at this conference. Beyond understanding ways in which we can develop the current health system to provide more effective means of diagnosis and treatment by observing Integrative Medicine practices around the world, this conference has also facilitated valuable exchange of ideas and provided a forum for further innovation and development.”

Integrative Medicine combines conventional Western medicine with safe, evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies to focus on the whole person to achieve optimal wellness where the patient also has a greater sense of personal control.
