During 3 - 5 Aug, the monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, upper Laos and upper Vietnam into the low-pressure cell over the upper South China Sea. Meanwhile, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Less rains are likely in the whole country and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South(west coast) regions. The rather strong wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers area. During 6 - 8 Aug, the monsoon trough will move down to lie across the upper North and the upper Northeast of Thailand into the low-pressure cell over the upper South China Sea. Meanwhile, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. More rains are likely in the whole country and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. The wind forces the wave in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers and 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf, above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
During 6 - 8 Aug, the low- pressure cell over the upper South China Sea is expected to intensify a tropical storm and will move to lower portion of China during 10 - 11 Aug.
Warning
People in Thailand should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and over flows throughout the period. All ships in the Andaman sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershower, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore throughout the period .
