During 22-28 December 2022
During 22 - 23 Dec, the moderate high-pressure system is extended to covers the upper Northeast and the South China Sea. Meanwhile, the westerly wind moves pass the North, the upper Northeast with cool to cold weather and morning light fog in the upper country with slight rains in the upper part of the North. The moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South leading to less rain in the South while the moderate wind and wave are forecast in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. During 24 - 28 Dec, the rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea. 1 - 3 C drop in temperature is likely in the areas with cool to cold. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is strengthening leading wind and wave are forecast in the Gulf causing wave height is 2-3 meters in lower part of the Gulf and above 3 meters in thundershowers. About 2 meters and more than 2 in thundershowers area in the upper the Gulf and offshore Andaman Sea.
Caution
People in the upper country should take precaution to health condition due to decreasing in temperature and proceed with caution from the strong wind with dry air. Residents along the Gulf?s shore should watch for inshore surge. All ships in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore from 24 Dec until 28 Dec.
