General Situation

High-pressure system over Thailand has decline with cool to cold and morning light fog. scattered thundershowers are in the South. People beware of weather changes and fire due to dry air. The northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea. The wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf will strengthen to 2-4 meters high and in thundershowers above 4 meters. All ships should proceed with caution, keep off thundershowers and small boats in the Gulf should keep ashore until 8 Jan. Residents along the coast beware of inshore surges.
From 6 to 8 January 2023, the active low-pressure cell near Borneo Island is expected to move near the coast of Tip of Indochina while the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen. More rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the lower South. People in the south should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.

Southern (West Coast)
