General Situation

Another moderate high-pressure system from China extend to upper Vietnam and the South China Sea. It is expected to cover upper Thailand for tomorrow (6 January 2023) with cool to cold weather, a decrease in temperature with strong wind. For today (5 January 2023), the high-pressure system has covers upper Thailand causes cool to cold weather with light fog in the morning and isolated light rains in the lower Northeast and the East regions. People in upper Thailand beware should keep healthy due to the variable weather, and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is strengthening. Meanwhile, the active low-pressure cell covers the lower South China Sea with isolated thundershowers in the lower South. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and in thundershowers above 3 meters. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution, keep off thundershowers and small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore until 8 January. Residents along the coast beware of inshore surges.

Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
Minimum temperature 20-25 C. maximum temperature 29-31 C.
Surat Thani upwards : Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr.
Wave height about 2 meters and in thundershowers above 2 meters.
Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr.
Wave height 2-3 meters and in thundershowers above 3 meters.
Southern (West Coast)
Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
Minimum temperature 22-26 C. Maximum temperature 31-33 C.
Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr.
Wave height about 1 meter, offshore above 1 meter.
Bangkok Metropolitan
