During 18 - 22 Jan 2023, the rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Thailand and South China Sea causes cool to cold weather and windy in the upper country. Temperature will drop by 1 - 3 C in the Northeast, the East, the Central including Bangkok and vicinity. During 19 - 21 Jan 2023, the westerly in the high level will move to the North with 3 - 5C drop in temperature. During 23 - 24 Jan 2023, another moderate high pressure system from China will cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea with cool to cold weather remains in the upper country. The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South throughout the period with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the south during 20 - 24 Jan 2023. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Gulf about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. The lower Gulf up to 2 - 3 meters high in the lower Gulf and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
People in the upper should take precaution of heath from cold hazard and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air. People in the South should be caution of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution in the thundershowers area. Small boat in the lower South should keep ashore throughout the period. During 20 - 24 Jan 2023, people in the South should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and overflows.
