Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok's Thai fine-casual restaurant will take a journey through Northeastern Thailand's E-Sarn region in an exclusive chef's table event happening this April.
Taking place on Thursday 4th April, 7 p.m., Chef's Table: E-Sarn Summer will be a special collaboration between TAAN Executive Chef Monthep "Thep" Kamolsilp and Chef Weerawat "Num" Triyasenawat, of Udon Thani's highly-seasonal Samuay & Sons restaurant (www.facebook.com/samuaynsons).
The two rising chefs, both serious local produce nerds, will welcome the hot and dry summer by embarking on a two-day foraging trip across the areas surrounding Udon Thani to uncover long-lost ingredients and the best, most sustainable produce.
Diners will get the chance to try these unique, native Isaan ingredients in a nine-course dinner (THB. 2,900++ per person) combining traditional knowledge with modern cooking techniques.
As well as shining a light on indigenous, sustainable and foraged produce such as TK and TK, the meal will also draw upon E-Sarn drought-time wisdom and the concept of "eating food as medicine."
About TAAN and Samuay & Sons
Opened in October 2018, TAAN is Bangkok's first rooftop Thai restaurant and prides itself on "Hyper-Local Innovative Thai Cuisine" highlighting the country's best ingredients. Founded in 2014 by Weerawat Triyasenwat and his brother Worrawut, Udon Thani's Samuay & Sons focuses on both traditional and new Thai recipes made with rare and unique local produce.
