ในโอกาสวันครบรอบการได้รับเอกราชของสาธารณรัฐเซเนกัล ซึ่งถือเป็นวันชาติของเซเนกัลในวันที่ 4 เม.ย. นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีถึงประธานาธิบดีเซเนกัล และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเซเนกัล ดังนี้

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, and through you, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Senegal, our warmest felicitations and best wishes on the occasion of the 54th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Senegal.
Thailand and Senegal have long enjoyed amicable ties and excellent relations at all levels, throughout the history of our diplomatic relations. I am convinced that these existing amicable bonds of friendship between Thailand and the Republic of Senegal will be further strengthened for the benefit of our two countries and peoples.
