ในโอกาสวันชาติและวันประกาศเอกราช (จากอังกฤษ) ของสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐไนจีเรียในวันที่ ๑ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๗ นายประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพลเอกธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีเนื่องในโอกาสดังกล่าว ดังนี้

I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Government and the people of Thailand, our warmest felicitations and best wishes on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Our two countries have always enjoyed close ties and mutual understanding since the establishment of our diplomatic relations. I, therefore, look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further consolidate our cordial relations for the benefit of our two countries and peoples in the years ahead.
