ตามที่เกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวรุนแรงที่จังหวัดฮอกไกโด ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เมื่อวันที่ ๖ กันยายน ๒๕๖๑ ส่งผลให้มีผู้บาดเจ็บและก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายต่อทรัพย์สินของประชาชน นั้น
พลเอก ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีข้อความสารถึงนายชินโซ อาเบะ นายกรัฐมนตรีญี่ปุ่นและนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารถึงนายทะโร โคโนะ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศญี่ปุ่น ดังนี้

I have learned once again with profound sadness of the immense destruction caused by the powerful earthquake that struck Northern Japan in the morning of 6 September 2018.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I offer our sincere prayers for those who lost their lives, and extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to those affected by this tragedy. Thailand shares your sorrow and stands ready to provide assistance to alleviate the terrible impacts of the disaster.

๒. ข้อความสารจากนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ถึงนายทะโร โคโนะ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศญี่ปุ่น
I am deeply saddened to learn of the powerful earthquake that struck Hokkaido Prefecture in the morning of 6 September 2018, causing widespread damages to properties and facilities, and numerous injuries and loss of lives.
At this sorrowful moment, I wish to express my deepest sympathies, once again, to the bereaved families of those affected, and offer any assistance Japan may need to rebuild, recover, and cope with the aftermath of this incident. I sincerely believe that, with her profound resilience and solidarity, Japan will be able to speedily overcome this tragic incident.
