I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and casualties caused by the powerful typhoon Ketsana, which also led to extensive property damage in Hue and Da Nang Cities and outlying regions in Vietnam on 30 September 2009.
On behalf of the Government and people of Thailand, I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you and to the bereaved families of the victims of this tragic disaster, and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured. I am confident that, under your strong leadership, the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts will be carried out effectively.
