เมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤษภาคม 2553 ตรงกับวันครบรอบ 35 ปี ของการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนเกาหลี (เกาหลีเหนือ) ในโอกาสดังกล่าวได้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนสารแสดงความยินดีในระดับผู้นำประเทศและรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศของทั้งสองฝ่าย โดยกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้ส่งข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีของนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศให้กับรัฐบาลเกาหลีเหนือ เมื่อวันที่ 7 พฤษภาคม 2553 และสถานเอกอัครราชทูตเกาหลีเหนือประจำประเทศไทย ได้ส่งสารแสดงความยินดีจากนายคิม ยอง อิล นายกรัฐมนตรีเกาหลีเหนือถึงนายกรัฐมนตรี และจากนายปัก อึย ชุน รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเกาหลีเหนือถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ดังนี้

Today marks the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, it is indeed a great honour and pleasure for me to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Since the establishment of our diplomatic ties, our two countries have cooperated in various fields with the common aim to promote peace in the region and prosperity of our two peoples. It is my hope that 2010, being the year that celebrates the 35th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, will also usher in a new era of collaboration and deepening of friendship and understanding. Thailand stands ready to assist the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in its socio-economic development efforts and in its intention to enhance peace and security in the region.

I wish to take this opportunity to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the auspicious occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries.
Since the establishment of our diplomatic ties, Thailand and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have enjoyed close and cordial relations, as well as the deepening of our mutual understanding and friendship. We have also cooperated at the regional and multilateral levels, particularly under the ARF framework, to strengthen peace and security in Asia and beyond.
As we reflect on the past 35 years, I believe that our two countries could move forward together and in concert with the international community to further develop our bilateral relations and strengthen regional development and stability in the years to come.
