Dow Thailand encourages the youth to experience Thai rice culture and the farmers’ way of life

Bangkok--19 Sep--Siam PR Consultant Dow Thailand led by Mr. Nattapong Jirawattanaworakul, Site Public Affairs Manager, Mr. Thanat Moungkeow, Site Infrastructure Leader, and Dow volunteers in association with Samnak Thon Sub-district Administrative Organization organized the ‘Young Guardian’ activity under the ‘Neighbor Care’ project so as to encourage 34 students of Matthayomsuksa 3 from Chum Chon Wat Suwan Rangsan School to learn the Thai rice culture and the farmers’ way of life at the agricultural demonstration plot of Uncle Hua in Ban Chang, Rayong province. The activity provided the students with the opportunity to do rice farming throughout the whole process, to study home-grown vegetable agriculture, and to compost the bio-extract for household use. Moreover, the knowledge the students have gained from all workshops will be further applied to their school’s agricultural demonstration plot project which has been supported by Dow Thailand. Additionally, Mr. Insee Kerdmanee, Ban Chang District Chief Officer, presided over and took part in the activity.
