More than 10 million baht scholarships are provided to improve academic progress for disadvantaged youths with financial need, outstanding achievement, and good behavior.
December 8th , 2016 – Mr. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, Senior Executive Vice President, Oil Business Unit, PTTPLC presided over PTT scholarship granting ceremony 2016 at PTT head office, Bangkok.
Mr. Auttapol said according to the quote of King Bhumibol stated in his royal address given to teachers and students at Dusidalai Hall on July 27th, 1961: "…an education is a foundation of knowledge build up, human behavior, and moral thoughts. A society with well-developed education system offered to their youths will indicate high living standards and good quality of life, which leads to the nation prosperity and strong sustainable growth," it showed our King's determination in advancing an education system nationwide. As to honour his great resolution, PTT has continued to provide scholarships to Thai youths since 1997.
For this year, PTT grants scholarship to underprivileged students with academic excellence residing around PTT central and regional operating areas. Today, PTT offers 2,629 scholarships with total amount of 10,800,000 Baht to students in the elementary (3,000 Baht each), junior secondary (5,000 Baht each), senior secondary (6,000 Baht each), and higher education (10,000 Baht each).
Apart from scholarship granting program, PTT also provides further opportunities for Thai youths e.g. Book Donation Program, PTT Art Contest, Petro Camp and Big Cleaning Day.
