Government’s Fiscal Balance Report: The First 7 months of Fiscal Year 2018

Bangkok--24 May--Ministry of Finance Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance's Spokesman, announced the government fiscal balance for the first 7 months of fiscal year 2018 (October 2017 - April 2018). The government has received 1,287,270 million baht in revenue. The government budget disbursement was at 1,844,576 million baht. To finance such deficit, the government has borrowed 334,818 million baht. Therefore, the treasury reserve at the end of April 2018 was at 277,869 million baht. Ms. Kulaya concluded, "Budget disbursement for the first 7 months of fiscal year 2018 was higher than the same period last year, which continued to support the Thai economy, while the government still managed the treasury reserve at the appropriate level to support budget disbursement in the future."
