General Situation The rather strong high pressure from China covers Thailand and the South China Sea for the period lasting 24 January. Outbreaks of cool to cold spells will be likely with a decrease by 2-4 C, as well as windy condition while the North, the Central and the East gain a decrease by 1-3 C.

The strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf and the South and outbreaks of heavy to torrential rains in following provinces: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat during 23-25 January. People should beware of severe conditions and possible flash flood. Areas prone to landslide are still cautious, and people follow closely the weather update.

The strong winds over the lower Gulf force waves up to 2-3 meters. People along the Gulf should beware of inshore surges. All ships proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore for the period lasting 25 January.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and heavy to torrential rains

much of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

Chumphon upwards: Easterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers areas.

Surat Thani downwards: Easterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers areas.

Southern Part (West Coast) Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Krabi Trang and Satun.

Easterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters offshore.

Metropolitan Cool, a decrease in temperature by 1-2 C with windy.
