ตามที่พายุไต้ฝุ่น Hagupit เข้าพัดถล่มประเทศฟิลิปปินส์เมื่อวันที่ ๖ ธันวาคม ๒๕๕๗ ที่ผ่านมานั้น พลเอก ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงประธานาธิบดีฟิลิปปินส์ ดังนี้
I was very saddened to learn of the loss of lives and severe damage caused by Typhoon Hagupit which struck the Philippines in the early morning of 6 December 2014.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I wish to offer my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to those who have lost property and loved ones in the aftermath of this disaster. I wish to reassure you that Thailand stands ready to render assistance and support to the Government and people of the Philippines in this time of need.
