SCB Ranks First Among Thai Financial Institutions in Forbes Global 2000 Report

Bangkok--28 May--Siam Commercial Bank Siam Commercial Bank again ranked high in the annual Global 2000 list of world-leading corporations published by Forbes magazine, rising significantly this year. In the magazine’s 2012 report on the world’s 2,000 biggest public companies, a total of 17 Thai companies made the list. Siam Commercial Bank ranked #2 among the companies from Thailand, and #1 among Thai financial institutions. SCB’s overall rank in the list this year was #662, up from #763 in 2011. “SCB’s high rank in this survey is an indication of our overall performance, and it shows our truly international level of competitiveness in the banking business,” said Dr. Vichit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Siam Commercial Bank. “The results also reaffirm the success of the Bank’s ‘Change’ initiative, the strategy for transformation that we have pursued during the past several years. This major program has put us on a clear path toward solid growth and helped SCB gain wide recognition both at home and abroad. New York-based Forbes magazine published the first Forbes Global 2000 report in 2003. The widely-read annual survey ranks leading public companies around the world by sales, profits, assets and market value. Siam Commercial Bank has been included in the list every year since its inception. In 2003, the Bank was among seven Thai companies listed, ranking #1,854.
