Bangkok--28 May--Siam Commercial Bank
To showcase and boost recognition of more than 240 quality Thai products, Siam Commercial Bank, in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries, will be organizing a 5th “SCB-FTI Factory Outlet” promotion during May 28 - June 1, 2012 at 09.00 — 18.00 hrs. at Mahisorn Hall, located in the SCB Head Office complex. Featuring discounts of up to 70%, the event is held to promote SMEs from various industries and allow consumers to purchase products at reasonable prices. This will in turn help stimulate domestic spending and drive the overall economy. It is expected that this event will be able to raise more than 25 million baht in revenue for the different industries.
Speaking about the "SCB-FTI Factory Outlet" fair, Siam Commercial Bank Business Banking Group First Executive Vice President Mrs. Sutharntip Phisitbuntoon said that, "The role of SCB is not just to serve as a business partner or to provide financial support to SMEs. The scope of our support goes beyond that. We organize seminars and training for SMEs and also act as a go-between connecting entrepreneurs with consumers, enlarging business opportunities for entrepreneurs thorough these "SCB-FTI Factory Outlet" fairs, which have been organized for 5 consecutive years. Last year we were able to generate more than 15 million baht in revenue for entrepreneurs and SME owners, and this year we expect to bring in more than 25 million baht.”
Federation of Thai Industries Vice Chairman Mr. Manapol Poosomboon noted that, "SMEs play an equally critical engine in economic development as those of large enterprises (LEs). However, rapid changes in economic and social situations, norms, technology, and innovation, have impacted competition in the business and industrial sectors. In addition, Thai SMEs still lack insight, sufficient capital to develop product quality, the infrastructure necessary for business operations, appropriate new targets, and branding to increase awareness and recognition. The SCB — FTI Factory Outlet fair is another collaborative activity between FTI and SCB providing synergy in promoting, supporting, and assisting SMEs in terms of selling channels. The fair will also serve as an opportunity for entrepreneurs to promote and launch new products to the market, which will generate more liquidity and boost domestic sales.”
The “SCB — FTI Factory Outlet" fair has been held every year for the last four years, so this will be the fifth year for this event. Two hundred and forty booths will be set up to showcase products, including cosmetics, leather goods, furniture, home decoration items, electrical appliances, textiles, apparel, glasses, ceramics, plastic, jewelry accessories, and much more, from FTI member factories and SCB customers selling directly to buyers. The fair will be held during Monday, May 28 - Friday, June 1, 2012 at 09.00 — 18.00 hrs. at Mahisorn Hall, SCB Head Office, Ratchayothin Intersection. FTI and SCB expect that the fair will benefit the overall economy".
