SCB is committed to helping customers do business smoothly in Myanmar. Mr. Manop Sangiambut, executive vice president & head of international banking business, Wholesale Banking Group, Siam Commercial Bank, (at right) recently signed a memorandum of understanding to promote strategic cooperation with Myanmar’s Kanbawza Bank Ltd, represented by Mr. Nyo Myint, managing director, International Banking Division.
The MOU’s initial stage has resulted in a new fund transfer service for migrant workers in Thailand using Kanbawza Bank, which is Myanmar’s largest private bank with most extensive network of branches and ATMs. The two banks officially operate the much-needed remittance business immediately from now.
The MOU aims to provide a framework for more extensive business cooperation between the two institutions in response to AEC, demonstrating the banks’ cordial relationship and confidence in SCB's reputation and ability to deliver world-class products and services.
