Mr. Kittiphun Anutarasoti (middle), Siam Commercial Bank First Executive Vice President, Corporate Banking Division; Mr. Voravit Potisuk (left), Electricity Generating PCL (EGCO) Senior Executive Vice President, Business Development-Domestic; and Mr. Ahmad Chatila (right), President and CEO, MEMC Electronic Materials, Incorporated (parent company of the SunEdison Group of companies), jointly sign a share purchase agreement for 8 Megawatt SPP 5 Solar Power Plant, located in Roi Et. SCB views renewable energy segment as one of its strategic focus area.. SCB has been selected as financial advisor and provides project financing facilities to a number of Thailand's renewable energy projects.
Following SPP2, SPP3, and SPP4 SPP5 transaction between SunEdison Group and EGCO concluded on private placement basis, with SCB as the M&A financial advisor. This latest transaction affirms SCB's commitment as a total-solution provider to EGCO and SunEdison Group under its universal banking platform. The transaction demonstrates SCB's continuing success in renewable energy. SCB also provides SPP 5 with financial support of THB 830 million for the project development.
