Mention to Bang-Na District today, there are a few people who are not recognized of Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), one of the best exhibition centers in Thailand. It cannot deny that the presence of these two giants’ organizations, BITEC and Megabangna, have brought prosperity encouraging to the society; besides, it attracts to Bang-Na district to the vibrant and quintessentially as it will encourage participation growth from several surrounding communities. The management of both organizations have recognized and learned the potential of continuing on improvement to supporting the growth and facilities services, thus planning the projects and activities in the short and long term period.
As the short term plan, both organizations have collaborated in “National Science & Technology Fair 2012”, organized by National Science Museum, Ministry of Science & Technology, on 17-31 August 2012. In addition to the plan, Megabangna provides the free-of-charge areas of car parking with more than 8,000 spaces for visitors. It has also more areas of 70 rais for 200 buses parking on weekdays and 56 buses parking on weekends. There is also shuttle transportation (Shuttle Bus) providing every hour from 9:00am to 10:00pm from the Megabangna to BITEC. Besides, a bus station parking for Metro (Metro Bus) to pick up passengers from the BTS station to Megabangna between 7.00am - 11.00pm as well as the interconnection of van from Bangkok and other provinces with more than 10 bus lines and 10 bus routes are provided. This cooperation is set especially for the society and surrounding communities to increase the convenient way in the durations of the event and reduce traffic of intersection at Bang-Na road.
Furthermore, save these services, BITEC also encourages visitor who will come to the fair to ride the BTS which is easy for accessibility by dropping off at BTS (E13) and getting into Sukhumvit Road entrance, using BITEC skywalk which is connected to the exhibition centre. It not only more comfortable but also will help to reduce energy of consumption, air pollution and another one way to safe an earth.
