The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SCIeco Services Co., Ltd., under SCG, to elevate its internal waste management through a comprehensive "Waste-to-Value" model. This collaboration introduces advanced technology that transforms general waste into Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), significantly reducing landfill waste and accelerating QSNCC's journey toward its Net Zero 2050 goal.

Announced during Thailand Environment Month, the partnership underscores QSNCC's commitment to advancing the circular economy within Thailand's MICE industry. It will also make QSNCC the first convention center in the country to implement a full-scale RDF system, setting a new national benchmark for environmental responsibility and sustainableevent operations.
Surapol Utintu, Managing Director of N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of QSNCC, said: "Sustainability in the MICE industry must begin with strong operational foundations not just activity-level campaigns. This partnership marks a pivotal step in redesigning waste management from the ground up, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring steady progress toward our Net Zero commitments."
"We chose SCIeco by SCG as our partner because they embody responsible, transparent, and sustainability-driven business practices. As a recognized expert Total Waste Management and RDF technology, SCIeco brings proven capabilities across leading industries. With their technology, operational systems, and transparent reporting, we are confident that this collaboration will elevate QSNCC's waste management to international standards, accelerate the shift toward renewable energy, and reinforce Thailand's long-term circular economy agenda."
Over the past three years, QSNCC has strengthened its sustainability framework both within the organization and across its ecosystem from achieving ISO 14064-1 and Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) certification, to implementing the Zero Food Waste Initiative, to pioneering Thailand's first real-time Carbon Footprint of Event (CFE) dashboard for MICE events. These collective efforts have earned QSNCC both national and international sustainability accolades, laying a strong foundation for its path to Net Zero by 2050.
Chalong Limsuntrakul, Managing Director of SCIeco Services Co., Ltd., added: "We believe waste is not a burden but a resource with untapped value. Transforming general waste into alternative fuel brings that value back into the circular economy. QSNCC is the first convention center in Thailand we are partnering with, and this collaboration allows us to optimize waste operationsfrom sorting and collection to storage and full-scale RDF conversion. We believe this will become an important model for the MICE industry and accelerate Thailand's transition toward a sustainable, circular economic system."
This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to driving measurable environmental impact. It also marks a significant milestone for Thailand's MICE industry in advancing the country toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.
