DHL unveils “DHL Idea Street” at SME Thailand Expo 2012

Bangkok--1 Nov--Aziam Burson-Marsteller - Launch was officiated by Siriwat Kajornprasart, Deputy Minister of Commerce - DHL Express Thailand continues to be the bridge for local SMEs, connecting them to the global market place DHL Express, the world’s leading express service provider recently launched “DHL Idea Street” at the SME Thailand Expo 2012. Officiating at the launch was Siriwat Kajornprasart, Deputy Minister of Commerce together with representatives from SME Thailand as well as the Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC), a specialist organization set up by the Thailand’s Prime Minister’s Office. DHL Idea Street, a collaboration between DHL Express Thailand, TCDC and SME Thailand Expo, seeks to provide budding SMEs with the platform to showcase their creativity and broaden their product exposure. Participating at this year’s event were 12 entrepreneurial SMEs who successfully capitalized on the changing consumer trends by developing and offering unique products/services. Turning an idea into scalable businesses, the originality of their products had distinctly differentiated and gave them the edge over the competition. “As a leader in the express industry, our aim is to bring to life the importance of logistics in delivering trading efficiencies and in aiding SMEs with international trading and expansion. The SME sector is a primary economic pillar for many countries, and especially so in Thailand and across the region. In this highly globalized world, change is the only constant. We are mindful of the challenges faced by SMEs and act in a consultative role to ensure that SMEs benefit from DHL’s knowledge and expertise. DHL Idea Street underscores our effort to provide ongoing support to enterprising SMEs and elevate them to the global platform,” said Yasmin Aladad Khan, Senior Vice President, DHL Express Southeast Asia. Pachareewan Ruenthip, Luum’s owner said, “Increasingly small businesses are expanding their retail channels and customer base by tapping on the advanced online networks and channels. The Luum brand has come a long way and our customers are attracted by the novel designs of our line of clothing. We are confident about the ongoing growth in sales of our products to other countries especially Japan, Europe and the United States.
